Dollar Store twine carrots are so much fun to craft with!
Dollar Tree twine carrots have been a fan-favorite and spring crafting staple for a few years now, and it’s not hard to see why.
These cute little carrots can be suited to any decor or crafting style. The orange twine adds a pop of color that can be highlighted with other brightly-colored accents. Or the orange can be downplayed with black, white, and neutral accents for a more rustic or farmhouse style.
I’m no stranger to crafting with these foam and twine carrots. Here are a few other crafts I’ve made with them:
Supplies Needed:
- Small twine carrots (3, 6-packs from Dollar Tree)
- Paper Clip Cup, Metal – Dollar Store
- Wired Jute Cord – Dollar Store
- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks – Dollar Store
- Natural Jute Twine – Dollar Store
- Orange Acrylic Craft Paint
- Paintbrush
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Wire Cutters
Tutorial: How to Make a Mini Twine Carrot Easter Basket Craft
To make your own little spring carrot basket, follow this quick step-by-step tutorial:
- Paint the metal paper clip cup orange. Let dry, and apply a second coat if needed for full coverage. Be sure to paint the bottom.
- Hot glue the carrots to the outside of the metal paper clip cup. Make sure to glue the carrots close together. If the last carrot does not fit perfectly, gently squeeze the foam carrot between your fingers before inserting and securing with hot glue.
- Measure and cut two 12” lengths of wired jute cord. Twist the two lengths together to create one handle.
- Carefully bend the handle to create an arch. Attach the ends of the handle to opposite sides of the basket, tucking into empty spaces between the carrots. Secure the ends of the handle by giving them a twist and adding a dab of hot glue.
- Tie a bow with twine, and hot glue it to the top edge of the basket Trim any long ends with scissors.
