Let’s make three new Dollar Store spring carrot terrariums – using a mini gumball machine, a cloche dome, and an upcycled pickle jar – to decorate for spring and Easter.

Let’s use some Dollar Tree twine carrots to make a few fun spring terrariums to decorate your tiered trays and Easter vignettes.

Dollar Store twine carrots are so much fun to craft with!

Dollar Tree twine carrots have been a fan-favorite and spring crafting staple for a few years now, and it’s not hard to see why.

These cute little carrots can be suited to any decor or crafting style. The orange twine adds a pop of color that can be highlighted with other brightly-colored accents. Or the orange can be downplayed with black, white, and neutral accents for a more rustic or farmhouse style.

I’m no stranger to crafting with these foam and twine carrots. Here are a few other crafts I’ve made with them:

3 Different DIY Easter Carrot Terrariums

1 – Upcycled Pickle Jar Spring Terrarium

Supplies

  • Pickle (or other wide-mouth) jar, washed and label removed
  • White chalky finish paint
  • Paint brush
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Small piece of Spanish moss
  • 3 Large twine carrots (from the 4-pack at Dollar Tree)
  • Moss bunny (from a 3-pack at Dollar Tree)
  • Black and white check ribbon, 3/8-inch

Tutorial: How to Make an Upcycled Jar Spring Carrot Terrarium

  1. Watch the video above before you begin, and let that be your visual guide for this craft.
  2. Paint the jar lid with white paint. Use 2-3 coats, allowing paint to dry after each coat. Paint jar lid with white chalk paint
  3. Add a few dabs of hot glue to the inside of the jar lid. Press a bit of Spanish moss into the hot glue, covering the inside surface of the lid. Then, hot glue a moss bunny to the jar lid, closer to the edge than the middle. hot glue Spanish moss to the inside of jar lid
  4. Set 3 twine carrots into the jar. Carefully turn the jar over, and screw the jar onto the lid. screw jar back onto lid
  5. Wrap a piece of ribbon around the jar neck, and tie with a simple bow.

2 – Dollar Store Mini Gumball Machine Spring Terrarium

Supplies:

  • 1 Plastic mini gumball machine – Dollar Tree
  • White chalky finish paint
  • Paint brush
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Small piece of Spanish moss
  • Scissors
  • 3 Small twine carrots (from the 6-pack at Dollar Tree)
  • Nautical jute rope – Dollar Tree

Tutorial: How to Make a Mini Gumball Machine Spring Carrot Terrarium

  1. Watch the video above before you begin, and let that be your visual guide for this craft.
  2. Remove the clear top of the mini gumball machine and paint the base with white paint. Use 2-3 coats, allowing paint to dry after each coat. Paint base of plastic gumball machine white
  3. Add a few dabs of hot glue to the top of the gumboil machine base. Press a bit of Spanish moss into the hot glue. Hot glue Spanish moss onto gumball machine base
  4. Set three small twine carrots into the clear top of the gumball machine. Then, screw the lid onto the base. Add twine carrots into the gumball machine dome

3 – Dollar Store Cloche Carrot Terrarium

Supplies:

  • Plastic Cloche Dome – Dollar Tree
  • White chalky finish paint
  • Paint brush
  • 6 Large twine carrots (from the 4-pack at Dollar Tree)
  • Scissors
  • Wooden craft stick
  • Crafting shears (or heavy-duty craft scissors)
  • Fine-point Sharpie pen
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Tutorial: How to Make Dollar Store Cloche Spring Carrot Terrarium

  1. Watch the video above before you begin, and let that be your visual guide for this craft.
  2. Remove the clear top of the cloche and paint the base with white paint. Use 2-3 coats, allowing paint to dry after each coat. Paint base of cloche white
  3. Cut the 6 twine carrots at varying heights, taking care to not let the twine unravel and reveal the white styrofoam underneath. Cut twine carrots at varying heights
  4. Hot glue the carrots to the top surface of the cloche base. Hot glue carrot pieces to cloche base
  5. Cut two small pieces of a wooden craft stick, and hot glue them together to form a sign. Use the Sharpie pen to write “carrot patch” on the mini wooden sign. Hot glue the bottom of the sign to the cloche base, in front of the carrots.
  6. Add the clear cloche lid and twist to secure.

Upcycled Pickle Jar Spring Terrarium

Yield: 1 terrarium

Grab an empty glass jar and get crafting - make this cute upcycled pickle jar spring carrot terrarium.

Materials

Dollar Store Cloche Carrot Terrarium

Yield: 1 terrarium

Grab a plastic cloche dome from Dollar Tree and make a cute little carrot terrarium to decorate for Easter.

Materials

  • Plastic Cloche Dome – Dollar Tree
  • White chalky finish paint
  • Paint brush
  • 6 Large twine carrots (from the 4-pack at Dollar Tree)
  • Scissors
  • Wooden craft stick
  • Crafting shears (or heavy-duty craft scissors)
  • Fine-point Sharpie pen
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions

  2. Remove the clear top of the cloche and paint the base with white paint. Use 2-3 coats, allowing paint to dry after each coat.
