Let’s talk about pizza pan crafts
Take a look in the kitchen section of your Dollar Tree store, and you’re bound to find a variety of cooking and baking supplies and tools. But pizza pans are hands-down, one on my favorite dollar store kitchen items.
Pizza pans can be used to make so many crafts. In the past, I’ve made a pizza pan door hanger, a winter village door hanger, and even a decorative tray with them.
But today, I’m going to be making a DIY hanging flower basket to brighten your decor for spring and summer.

Pizza Pan Hanging Flower Basket
All you need are just a few Dollar Store supplies and materials to make this cute Pizza Pan Hanging Flower Basket.
Materials
- Pizza Pan (Dollar Tree)
- Waverly Chalk Paint (color - celery)
- Manilla Folder & Pen
- 2 Packs of Luau Skirts (Dollar Tree)
- Faux Tulips (Michael's)
- E6000 glue
Tools
- 1" paintbrush
- craft scissors
- masking tape
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- duct tape
Instructions
- Watch tutorial video. Follow along with the tutorial video for a step-by-step walkthrough of how to make your own hanging flower basket.
- Paint the pizza pan. Start by painting one solid coat of chalk paint on the pan. I painted half of the front and all of the back.

- Trace half of the pan onto a manilla folder. Using a pen (or marker), trace half of the pizza pan onto the folder. Cut out the half circle (this will be the pocket pouch for the flowers.

- Make the basket. Grab 6 sections of the hula skirt and apply a strip of tape to hold it now. Braid the section. Repeat this process until you get about 7 braids on the skirt.

- Apply braids to the basket. Using a generous amount of hot glue, begin attaching the braids to the "basket" (cut part of the manilla folder). You will have braid leftover, so trim it when it gets to the end of the basket and repeat the process.

- Make the handle. Do the braiding process again. You'll need at least 3 lengths of braids. Watch the video to see how I easily added to the braid to make it longer.

- Attach the flowers. Cut the flowers off, ensuring to leave half (or more) of the stem. Place the flowers how you want them (I did the darker color at the back and the lighter in the front.) Secure them to the pizza pan with duct tape.

- Attach the basket base. Place the basket base over top of the taped flowers and secure it using a combination of E6000 glue and hot glue.

- Secure the handle. Use a generous amount of hot glue to attach the handle on the left and right sides of the pizza pan. I used an additional braided piece to cover the open area across the top of the pizza pan.

- Hang your new pizza pan hanging flower basket! You can use a command strip right on the back of the pizza pan for hanging if you are worried about the handle holding the weight of the door hanger. .
Notes
Tip: trim the braids to match the curvature of the basket.
