These pine snow globe ornaments only take 5 supplies and they come together in a snap.

Have you ever looked at your Christmas tree and thought, “It’s missing something.”? Well, that’s where these ornaments might come in handy. Because they are made with a simple, neutral winter scene, they’ll go with whatever theme you’ve chosen for your holiday decor.

I think that’s what I love most about snow globe-type decor. They are easy to customize and often add the perfect touch to any room. Not to mention, you can make them on a dime and switch them up every year.

WHY I LOVE THIS PROJECT

Anytime I can make a super cute craft that takes few supplies and little time, I’m all for it. This project is no exception and I love how it turned out. I decided to only make 6 of them, which added the perfect touch to everything else I already have on my tree.

Of course, you can make more or less and even decide to make them as gifts for friends, family, or coworkers. The possibilities of what you can put on the inside are endless. For this project, I went with a simple winter theme made with fake snow, pine sprigs, and cones.

SUPPLIES NEEDED

  • Clear plastic ornaments
  • Gilding brass paint (made for nonporous surfaces)*
  • A bag of fake snow
  • Pine cones and sprigs**

  • Twine
  • Scissors
  • Small paint brush

*The brass paint doesn’t have a pleasant smell, so I recommend cracking a window.

**These can be purchased at the craft store. It is better to purchase the kind that is made of plastic or rubber so you can get them into the ornament.

  1. Pop the tops off the plastic ornaments and give them a quick coat with the gold paint.

  2. Use a piece of paper to create a funnel and pour in a bit of the fake snow. I used a pair of scissors to push it through the hole and into the ornament.
  3. Cut 1 sprig of pine and 2 pine cones from your stash and squeeze them (1 at a time) through the top of the ornament.
  4. Give it a shake so everything lays nicely. You can use a pair of scissors to help move thing around as well.
  5. Pop the top back on and add a hanger using a piece of twine tied with a simple knot at the top.

** TIP: If you prefer the silver look over the gold or bronze, feel free to skip the painting step altogether. The gold/bronze look is trending at the moment, so I went with it.

OPTIONAL: You can always add more or less of the snow, greenery, or pine cones, depending on the overall look you’re going for.
