Tutorial: How to Make Santa Hat Clothespin Ornaments
Here’s a quick step-by-step tutorial to make ONE ornament. Feel free to repeat the process as many times as you like!
- Remove the metal spring from three wooden clothespins. Line up the full clothespins (six halves) on your work surface, to create a wedge shape.
- Hot glue the six clothespin pieces together. It’s best to have one half on each end of the “wedge” facing outward.
- Paint the front and all sides of the clothespin wedge with red paint. Set aside to dry. If necessary, apply a second coat.
- Hot glue eight medium size white pom poms in a row along the base of the hat for the fur trim. Secure one more white pom pom to the top of the hat.
- Cut a 12” length of twine. Tie it in a loop with a knot, and attach to the top of the back of the Santa hat with hot glue.
- Decorate the hat. Hot glue a mini holly leaf and three mini gold tinsel pom poms to the hat.
