Let’s Make Our Own Fall-inspired Mini Sign
If you’ve spent any amount of time on my blog or YouTube Channel, then you may have seen my other drop cloth craft projects. This one is much like the Printed Fabric Bookmarks I made last summer:

I decided to keep with the drop cloth fabric trend and make a mini sign using a print image.
Where can I buy drop cloth fabric?
I buy my drop cloths at Home Depot. You can buy them at any home improvement store, or even online. Just be sure to buy the all-fabric type without any sort of rubber backing.

Tutorial: How to a Fall Scrap Fabric Mini Sign
For this project I used some scrap drop cloth. I always, ALWAYS keep scraps in my craft room. In moments like this, they come in quite handy.

Fall Scrap Fabric Mini Sign
Use a piece of drop cloth, freezer paper, and your printer to make a cute little fall scrap fabric mini sign.
Materials
- a scrap piece of drop cloth fabric
- freezer paper
- a piece of printer paper
- digital image (to print)
- 4 15mm half wood balls
- a piece of scrap wood
- tacky glue or wood glue
Tools
- mini heat press (or iron with no steam)
- Sharpie marker
- scissors (or rotary cutter)
- printer
Instructions
- Watch the video. Follow along with the tutorial video for a step-by-step walkthrough on how to create your own fall scrap fabric mini sign.
- Attach the freezer paper to the drop cloth. Using a mini heat press or iron with no steam, iron the freezer paper to the drop cloth. Use a size a little bigger than a regular sheet of printer paper.
- Cut down to size. Use a piece of printer to trace the size needed to cut the drop cloth down to. Use scissors or a rotary cutter to cut out the piece.
- Print an image. I printed an image of a leaf. Simply run the fabric/freezer paper combo through your printer, taking care so that the edges don't curl. Watch the printer closely to prevent any jams. Peel the freezer paper away from the fabric.
- Paint the wood balls. I painted the wood balls navy blue to match the leaf I printed.
- Cut down to size. Use a rotary cutter to trim the fabric to a little smaller than your scrap wood. Fray the edges with your fingers.
- Assemble the sign. Use tacky glue or wood glue to attach the drop cloth to the sign. Attach the wood balls in the four corners.
- Add an accent color. Finish the sign by adding an accent color to the trim.
I like the printing technique. The finished project is so cute.
