Why I love this craft
This is one of those crafts that not only does it costs just a couple of dollars, but it’s also the perfect project if you are looking to get rid of some of your craft stash. I was able to use some old materials for some of the embellishment and anything I needed could be purchased at Dollar Tree!
Matte vs. Gloss Mod Podge: What’s the Difference?
When it comes to finishing your DIY projects, choosing between matte and gloss Mod Podge can totally change the final look. Matte Mod Podge dries with a flat, non-shiny finish, which is perfect for farmhouse-style signs, photo collages, or anything where you want a more natural or vintage vibe.
On the other hand, Gloss Mod Podge dries with a shiny, reflective finish that adds a polished touch. It’s great for projects like coasters, decorative trays, or anything where you want colors to pop and shine.
Both formulas seal, protect, and add durability so it really comes down to the finish you’re going for!

- Folkart paint (color: black currant)
- Matte mod podge
- wall decal stickers

- 2 hula skirt pieces, or raffia
- piece of manilla folder or cardstock paper

- Prep the pan. Spray the back of the pizza pan with a coat of white paint.
- Paint the pan. Choose whatever color the matches the wall decals you'll be using. In the case of my craft, I used the color black currant. Paint over the prepped surface.

- Seal the paint. Once the paint has dried, apply a generous coat of matte mod podge to seal. Allow it to dry completely.

- Prep decals. Take the decals of your choice and apply them to a manilla folder. Cut the decals out.

- Attach magnets. Cut out small magnet pieces and attach to the back of each decal with hot glue.
- Embellish the board. Cut out whatever decals you'd like to embellish the board and apply with a smoothing technique.

- Add a decorative border. Add border with a variety of rope, twine, vine ribbon twisted together secured with hot glue.

- Add hanger. Use a piece of twine to create a hanger and attach with hot glue and a dab of E6000 for a secure hold.
