WITH A DIY SNOW GLOBE CANDLE, YOU CAN SHOW OFF YOUR FAVORITE FAMILY PICTURE OR A WINTER SCENE.
This craft project is really just too cute for words. It’s a unique way to decorate for the holiday season and is totally versatile.
I’ve created a candle holder by transferring photos on glass, but this project takes an actual glass candle and turns it into a snow globe. It may look hard to do, but it’s actually quite easy and fun. This is a holiday craft project you can do with the family or your crafting friends.
WHY I LOVE THIS PROJECT
I’m all for making unique or customizable crafts, but even more so when they turn out way cuter than I imagined. I also like how I have most of the supplies needed for this craft on hand. And anything I did need, I could inexpensively find at a local craft store.
Being able to do a variety of things with these snow globes is another thing I love. Whether you want to personalize it with a picture with your best friend or use the space for creating a winter scene, you can do anything you want.

TUTORIAL: HOW TO MAKE A DIY SNOW GLOBE CANDLE
Follow this quick step-by-step tutorial below:
- First, print the templates and add the label. In Canva, upload the polaroid and candle label template. Add your own photo element, photo and text to the label, or create your own. Then print the label out on cardstock and the label on adhesive paper. Remove the store-bought label, and apply the personalized one. Start from the middle and work outwards on the round surface.
- Cut out the polaroid and using the tabs, fold one out behind the photo and one in front of the photo. Add hot glue to each tab and glue to the middle of the lid.
- Add embellishments of your choice. I opted to add my own style of the bow to the mini gift box that matched the label. After, hot glue the gift box to one side and the mini bottle brush tree to the other side of the photo.
- Remove the tab on the fillable ornament. You can use a pair of pliers or your fingers by applying pressure at the base of the tab and push backwards. It will just snap off.
- Add faux snow to the lid of the candle. Then create a seal by adding the ½ of the fillable ornament and hot glue. Keep the lid and the dome level on a table. Hold down the dome with one hand and apply hot glue to the crack made between the dome and the lid.
- Attach the ribbon with hot glue around the sealed snow globe and the edge of the lid to help conceal any hot glue. Finish off with a bow.
OPTIONAL: Don’t hesitate to get creative!
