Supplies Needed for this Pumpkin Craft:
- Foam Pumpkin – Dollar Store
- Wooden Stems – Dollar Store
- Ribbon and/or Twine – Dollar Store
- Old Pair of Jeans or Denim Scrap
- Craft Felt – Olive Green
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Craft Knife
- Pencil
- Wired Twine
- Wire Cutters

Tutorial: How to Make a Denim Pumpkin
Follow this quick step-by-step tutorial below:
- Remove the tag and the stem from the foam pumpkin.
- Using a craft knife, carefully cut out a 2″ x 2″ square in the top of the pumpkin. Flip the pumpkin over and cut out another 2″ x 2″ square in the bottom.
- Measure and cut a 12” length from the leg of the denim jeans, creating a “loop” of fabric. Set the foam pumpkin in the center of the denim fabric loop.
- Start at the bottom of the pumpkin, and ends of the denim loop onto the square hole. Continue to fold the denim using the natural shape of the pumpkin as your guide and poke the fabric into the hole – use your finger or a small wood dowel to help.
- Flip the pumpkin over. Gather, fold, and insert the denim onto the hole at the top of the pumpkin. Use a small wood dowel or pencil once the hole becomes filled with the thick fabric.
- Insert a wooden stem into the top center of the pumpkin. Secure with hot glue.
- Cut out a leaf shape from the green felt. To create dimension, apply a dot of glue at the base of the leaf and fold in half.
- Cut a 12” length of wired twine using wire cutters. Wrap the twine around a pencil, and then slide it off to create a vine. Stretch and bend the wire to achieve the desired look.
- Secure the vine and leaf to the top of the pumpkin with hot glue.

That’s it! Such an easy fall craft that you can whip up in about 15 minutes.
