Why I love this craft
If you’ve spent any amount of time here, then you know how much I enjoy crafting with the tin tile sheets from Dollar Tree. They are super easy to work with and very versatile when it comes to making different types of crafts. For this particular craft, it is used to add a unique look to a Christmas tree form.
Why do I peel the adhesive from the back of the tin tile?
With the tin tile sheets from Dollar Tree, the backing is only secured in the corners. So once you get to cutting, the backing will come off anyways. To save a step, I go ahead and remove the backing to reveal just the tile sheet.
The inspiration for this craft:
Some of my favorite Christmas crafts, like these DIY Tin Tile Ornaments, were made using the tin tile sheets from Dollar Tree. You can cut them into any form and paint them to match any decor style of your choice.

- Prep the tile cutout and trace. Remove the adhesive backing from the tin tile and use the wooden tree cutout to trace a tree onto the back of the tile. Cut out the tree just inside the sharpie line.
- Cut out the center. Use the pattern in the center of the tile to cut out an opening in the center.
- Paint the tin tile. Using a poncer brush, paint the tin tile green. Also paint the edges and back of the wooden Christmas tree cutout. Let it dry completely.
- Assemble. Cut the printable down to size and hot glue it directly to the back of the tin tile cutout.
- Embellish the tin tile. Use a scrap piece of sponge and dab gold rub b' buff onto the tin tile tree.
Make a stem with sticks from outside or birch log pieces from Hobby Lobby. Paint a small wooden star with the gold rub n' buff and attach it to the top.
Use a wooden dice cube attached to the back to create a stand.
Then, use mostly tacky glue and a bit of hot glue on the tin tile and attach it to the wood tree cutout.
