Why I love this craft
When I first tried the open book trend, I immediately fell in love with the process and the overall look. I also knew I’d want to try this for the holiday season and I’m so glad I did!
What size book should I use?
For a craft project like this, you’ll want to use a book that’s thick enough to have enough pages leftover after cutting and tall enough to stand up without needing support. These can be picked up at any Dollar Tree or Dollar Store.
The inspiration for this craft:
Back in the fall I made this Fall Open Book Vase and loved how it turned out. There isn’t much to a craft project like beyond cutting the pages and playing around with the flower arrangement. You can make these for seasons, holidays, or even as table arrangements for parties and get togethers.

Hop on the book trend and use one to create a beautiful Christmas Open Book Flower Arrangement.
Materials
- hardcover book (Dollar Store)
- hot glue
- mixed bundle of stems (Hobby Lobby)
- wide and thin ribbon
Tools
- pencil
- craft scissors
Instructions
- Watch the video. Follow along with the tutorial video for a step-by-step walkthrough on how to make your own Christmas open book flower arrangement.
- Find the center of the book. Find the midpoint of the book and mark off about 45 pages evenly (about 23 to the right and 22 to the left). Use a pencil to mark the group of pages about a third of the way down.
- Cut the pages. Start cutting the pages in small groups. Once all of the pages are cut, rip off the top sections.
- Create the sections. Working in groups of 5, fold over 5 pages and secure them with hot glue. You should have a total of 9 sections.
- Dry fit stems. Cut apart the stems and dry fit them into the loops and folds of the book. You may have to arrange and rearrange several times to find what you like.
- Attach the stems. Once you've found the look you want, secure the stems and greenery with hot glue.
- Make a bow. Watch the video to see how I do this. Secure the bow at the base of the arrangement (top of the cut pages).
