Cozy Winter Bedroom Decor

I went on a major re-decorating spree in my bedroom over the winter break. Like, a “rearranging furniture, tearing down my faux plank wall, attempting lager-scale DIY wall decor,” kind of a re-decorating spree.
A New Painted Sign
I started by painting a large sign for above my bed. I used chalk paint, a stencil, and a whole lo of patience to make this bad boy happen.
If you (or your parents) are Lawrence Welk fans, you may recognize the song lyrics. My mom taught this song to my daughter, and now we sing it every night. It only seemed fitting to paint the lyrics on a bedroom sign.
A New Farmhouse Bedding Look for Winter
I bought this striped duvet on a recent Ikea trip. If you don’t have an Ikea near you, here’s a similar duvet.
I also bought this new knitted throw as a Black Friday deal, and I’m already wishing I had bought two more for the living room. It’s so cozy! You can snag that deer pillow cover here… for under $10!

Crate Storage at the End of the Bed
I love the idea of placing a bench at the foot of your bed. BUT I’m not going to buy furniture just because. It’s got to work for me, like by providing storage space.
Since I’m not 100% committed to this bench idea, I decided to do something a bit different. I stacked 4 crates (2 by 2) at the foot of my bed, and filled them with extra blankets and linens.
The only drawback: the storage is open. My 5-year-old son likes to snuggle up at the foot of my bed for naps, often with a favorite toy or small toys with him. If a toy falls in, we have to go digging to find it again. #MomLife
Lanterns and Evergreen Trees
I have a little set of three evergreen trees. 1) I think they’re for Christmas, and 2) I’m pretty sure they’re outdoor decorations, and 3) I obviously don’t care. They’re staying up in my bedroom for the winter.
I snagged these lanterns on Black Friday at the craft store. You can find similar ones here or here.
2 Simple Winter DIYs
I also added two quick DIYs: a pine cone bunch and a simple wreath. You can read all about them here. And that’s it for my winter bedroom decor.
- Wood Round Painted Wreath
- Winter Wood Round Craft
- Farmhouse Winter Pillow Covers
- Fall Plaid Tablescape
- Fun Winter Throw Pillows
- Boxwood Wreaths
This is one of my favorite posts of yours. I want my bedroom to look like this, SO inspirational!!
While Lawrence Welk was never my favorite, I remember this little song very well. It perfect for a child’s room. Your decor is so sweet. What little one wouldn’t love it? Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
