Tips for a simple farmhouse table setting - how to decorate a neutral tablescape that pops... on a budget!

Today I’m sharing both my Simple Thanksgiving Tablescape for you all and a first over here on the blog.  I’m doing a bloghop!

What’s a bloghop?  Well, I got together with 18 other bloggers this week, and we are all sharing our Thanksgiving tablescapes.  So scroll through, check out my tablescape.  Then, check out the other bloggers at the end of this post throughout the week!

How it Came Together

This all started with paper:

I am in love with the idea of running a roll of craft paper down the center of your table instead of using a tablecloth.  This is especially practical if you have young children who can’t be trusted with will tug at a traditional tablecloth.

Basically, I fell in love with this pattern of wrapping paper:

Truly.  This one pattern inspired my entire table.  Also, I have little kids who destroy things.  This tablescape was going to be short lived.  I was not willing to spend a whole bunch of time or money on this project.

I used plates, silverware, and glasses that I already had.  But I picked up a few things at the dollar store.

These chargers got a quick coat of navy spray paint:

Then these simple dollar store glass bottles served as a centerpiece on my favorite pedestal cake stand:

Those little plants are from Ikea, and they are some of the best, most realistic faux plants I’ve seen.  The candles are battery operated, because… kids.

The centerpiece came together with 3 dollar store jars and other supplies I already had around the house.  Sprigs from my herb garden filled the jars and are scattered around the table.
