It’s no secret that I LOVE decorating and crafting for winter. I mean, why let Christmas have all the fun? Make winter-themed decor that can stay up WAYYYYY…. longer than Christmas decor can.

This cute craft is a perfect snow day craft, and here in Minnesota we have a LOT of snow days! This crafts comes together in a snap with only a few basic craft supplies – that you probably already have in your craft stash.

Upcycled Wine Cork Snowman Craft

A note on wine corks:

If you’re not a big wine drinker, don’t worry. You can easily purchase wine corks online specifically for crafting.

Corks are SO much fun to craft with. Here are a few more upcycled wine cork craft ideas to inspire you!

Supplies needed to make this snowman craft:

*TIP: Orange felt or cardstock would also work for this project. Use what you have on hand. Heck, you could even paint a small twig orange to look like a carrot!

**Kid-Friendly Craft Option: You can use liquid craft glue instead. Just hold corks together with a rubber band during the drying process.

Tutorial: How to make a Wine Cork Snowman

Follow this quick step-by-step tutorial to make your own cute snowman decor.

  1. Assemble the snowman head. Hot glue together a row of two corks, then three corks, and then two corks.
  2. Assemble the snowman body. Hot glue together a rows of three corks, four corks, five corks, four corks, and three corks. Then hot glue the rows together. hot glue the corks together
  3. Paint all the cork ends with white acrylic craft paint. Let dry and apply a second coat, if necessary. paint the ends of the corks white
  4. Hot glue the snowman head to the body. Cut a triangle from orange craft foam (or felt or cardstock) and glue it to the center of the snowman head.
  5. To create the scarf, tie black and white check ribbon around the snowman neck. Secure in place with a dot or two of glue. add a nose and scarf to the wine cork snowman

  • Recycled Wine Corks – save them up, or else you can buy special crafting wine corks online
  • Acrylic craft paint – white
  • Craft foam – Orange*
  • Black and white check ribbon
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks**
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush
