Why I love this craft
I’m always a sucker for trying a good sign craft project, and since I’ve made one similar to this already, I knew it would turn out super cute. There is a little trick I do with the craft to help hide the spots where the napkin doesn’t full cover the wood cutout, and I think you’ll like it!
How to Use the Infamous Heat-Press Method
When it comes to attaching any type of paper to a wood surface, my go-to method is the mod podge and heat press method. You’ll me say it time and time again in my tutorial videos, “Apply a generous coat of mod podge to the entire surface and allow it to dry completely. One dried, lay the paper over the surface, followed by a piece of parchment paper, and use a mini heat press to activate the mod podge and secure the paper.”
If you don’t have a mini heat press, you can always use an iron minus the steam.

The inspiration for this craft:
I’ve made a Decoupage Easter Egg Sign Using a Napkin and I loved how it turned out. I knew that making another one would be a piece of cake and turn out beautiful.

Instructions
- Watch the video. Follow along with the video for a step-by-step walkthrough on how to make your own decoupage Easter egg sign.
- Paint the sign. Use a combination of white rustoleum chalkpaint and waverly chalkpaint in the color maze (yellow) with a spritz of water to paint the entire sign. Let it dry completely.
- Add a coat of mod podge. Apply a generous coat of mod podge to the front of the sign. Let it dry completely.
- Apply napkin. Remove the bottom ply of the napkin. Cut out the napking design and lay it on the sign. Use a piece of parchment paper and a mini heat press to apply the napkin.
- Remove excess napkin. Use a nail file to gently remove any excess napkin.
- Embellish the sign. Use the yellow paint and ponce around the boarder of the sign. Add more dimension with pink chalk paint. (Watch the video to see how I did this.)
- Add letters. Stamp on the words "Happy Easter" (or whatever you prefer).
