Mini Wood Crate Fall Centerpiece
This is one of those Dollar Store crafts I keep coming back to because you can make a version for pretty much every season. A little stretched canvas + a mini wood crate = the cutest little centerpiece!

For this Dollar Store Reverse Canvas Fall Centerpiece, I added a pretty fall calendar page to the canvas, stained the wood for a warm rustic finish, and filled the crate with fall florals. A little orange gingham ribbon finishes it off.
It’s part reverse canvas, part calendar page craft, part floral arrangement — basically all the good things rolled into one little Dollar Store DIY.
Dollar Store Reverse Canvas Fall Centerpiece
This easy reverse canvas fall craft combines a Dollar Store calendar page, mini wood crate, florals, and ribbon for charming fall decor.
Materials
- 5x7 stretched canvas
- Dollar Store mini wood crate
- Fall calendar page
- Mod Podge
- Parchment paper
- Oak gel stain or stain of choice
- Paint stir stick scrap, or
- E6000
- Hot glue gun
- Styrofoam
- Fall florals, leaves, or berries
- Orange gingham ribbon
Tools
- Mini heat press or household iron
- Pen blade or craft knife
- Scissors
- Pliers, optional
- Paintbrush
Instructions
- Watch the Video Tutorial. Watch the video tutorial to see how the reverse canvas, calendar page, and mini wood crate come together.
- Take Apart the Stretched Canvas. Cut around the back edge of the 5x7 stretched canvas and remove the fabric from the wood frame.

- Prep the Canvas Piece. Trim the canvas just inside the original fold line so it's slightly smaller than the frame. Brush Mod Podge over the canvas fabric and let it dry completely.

- Stain the Wood. Stain the entire canvas frame and mini wood crate. I used an oak gel stain, but you can use any stain or paint that coordinates with your calendar image.

- Add the Calendar Page. Position your calendar image over the canvas, cover with parchment paper, and heat press it into place. Trim away the excess paper.

- Reassemble the Reverse Canvas. Run hot glue around the back of the stained wood frame and press the calendar-covered canvas into place.

- Connect the Reverse Canvas and Mini Wood Crate. Apply E6000 glue and hot glue (net to each other, not mixed) to a scrap piece of paint stir stick. Then attach the wood stick to the bottom of the frame and the mini wood crate.

- Add the Fall Florals. Hot glue a small piece of Styrofoam inside the crate. Fill it with fall flowers, leaves, berries, or whatever you have in your craft stash. Keep the arrangement fairly low so you don't cover up that pretty calendar image behind it.

- Finish With Ribbon. Wrap a narrow orange gingham ribbon around the center of the crate and hot glue it in place. Make a small bow using the bunny-ear method, trim and heat-seal the tails, and glue the bow to the front of the crate. Your mini fall centerpiece is finished!

Easy Dollar Store Fall Decor
I love how many different Dollar Store supplies come together in this little project. A canvas becomes a frame, a calendar page becomes artwork, and a mini crate becomes a flower box.

And somehow, when you put it all together, you end up with an adorable Dollar Store Reverse Canvas Fall Centerpiece that’s perfect for a shelf, mantel, kitchen counter, or fall vignette.
Customize Your Mini Wood Crate Centerpiece
While I made mine for fall, this is definitely one of those crafts you can repeat all year long.
Swap the fall calendar page and florals for Christmas greenery and berries. Use a floral calendar page and colorful flowers for spring. Add a coastal image and greenery for summer.
You could also paint the wood instead of staining it or change out the ribbon to coordinate with your artwork.
The basic combination of a reverse canvas and mini wood crate stays the same, and everything else can change with the season.
