Add a touch of rustic charm to your holiday decor with this DIY Raffia Christmas Star Craft! Made with natural textures and simple materials, this star is perfect for farmhouse-style Christmas decorating.
Materials
- 5 bamboo skewers (Dollar Tree)
- hula skirt (Dollar Tree)
- hot glue
- battery operated fairy lights
Tools
- heavy duty craft scissors
- hot glue
Instructions
- Watch the video. Follow along with the video tutorial for a step-by-step walkthrough of how to make your own magnetic board.
- Cut skewers. Use a pair of heavy duty craft scissors and cut the skewers to the same size. Dry form the skewers into a star. Secure the points of the star together with something sticky (watch the video to see what I used), then apply a dab of hot glue to secure completely. Set books on it while the hot glue dries and remove your sticky substance.
- Attach hula skirt material. Use a few pieces at a time and do the following: attach the ends and wrap around the star form until it's completely covered. (watch the video to see how I did this)
- Wrap fairy lights. Start at the top of the star and wrap the fairy lights around until your preferred look is reached.
