Make this quick and easy fall DIY project: a Ribbon Pumpkin Craft using a few simple dollar store supplies.

Materials

  • Dollar store foam pumpkin
  • Assorted 2-inch wide fall-themed ribbons, 6 pieces cut 21-inches long
  • Stick
  • Faux greenery
  • Twine

Tools

  • Scissors
  • Miter shears or heavy-duty scissors
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Instructions

  1. Watch the video tutorial before you begin, and let that be your visual guide for this project.
  2. Remove the foam pumpkin stem. Use a pair of scissors to poke a 1.5-inch wide hole in the top of the pumpkin.
  3. Lay one piece of cut ribbon flat on your work surface. Set the foam pumpkin in the middle. Pinch the ribbon ends, folding the the ribbon over itself a bit, and pull the ribbon ends up around the pumpkin. Tuck both ribbon ends into the hole at the top of the pumpkin.
  4. Repeat step 3 with the 5 remaining pieces of ribbon, alternating the ribbon pattern as you go.
  5. Use miter shears to cut a piece of a twig. Stick the twig into the hole at the top of the pumpkin. hot glue greenery and a stick to the top of the pumpkin
  6. Apply a generous amount of hot glue at the base of the twig stem. Add faux greenery and a twine ribbon to the hot glue.
