Get creative and decorate brown paper lunch bags.

I absolutely adore the look of plain brown kraft paper, grocery bags, or lunch bags. They are such a fantastic canvas for creating. And it’s a nice change from stark white paper. In fact, I just made these fun grocery bag journals. They were so much fun to decorate!

The supplies for this project are pretty basic. You probably have them in your craft stash already.

  • brown paper lunch bags
  • black paint
  • 1-inch flat paint brush
  • rubber stamp
  • black ink pad

But honestly, don’t be limited by what I did. I prefer more neutral colors, so I stuck with basic black chalkboard paint and black ink for the stamps. But you can use any color paint and ink you like.

Get the kids involved, and let them come up with their own colorful creations!

Another Paper Bag Vase Idea:

Display indoor greenery in a brown bag paper vase. Make this farmhouse style plant holder from just a brown paper lunch bag and ribbon! This is such a thrifty and green way to display indoor plants.

This isn’t the first time that I’ve made vases like this. A few years ago, I made planter bags with a more farmhouse feel. You can watch this video below to see how they came together. Instead of using paint and rubber stamps, I adorned the bags with twine and ribbon.
