Try this mini terrarium craft project with your kids or other crafty friends.

This is a craft project that will help you create a quick and easy upscale to any space in your home. It’s also versatile in style meaning whether you have a Bohemian or Farmhouse theme, these will go perfectly.

Terrariums are also easy to make. This Bunny Mason Jar Terrarium was super easy and a great way to decorate for the Easter holiday and spring season.

WHY I LOVE THIS PROJECT

Anytime I can utilize the Dollar Store for a craft project, I’m always intrigued. The designs and styles people come up with never cease to amaze me and I’m always willing to give something a try.

I love this particular project because it takes minimal supplies and not a lot of time. It’s also something that I can do with friends for a fun craft day.

SUPPLIES NEEDED

  • Clay Pots, 2.5”
  • Mini Faux Cactus Plants
  • Gingham Ribbon, Black and White
  • Mini Water Bottles, 8 oz. Size

  • Natural Jute Twine
  • Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
  • Crinkle Paper, Brown
  • Wine Corks
  • Scissors

TUTORIAL: HOW TO MAKE A MINI TERRARIUM CRAFT

Follow this quick video step-by-step tutorial:

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry three of the 8 oz. plastic water bottles. Remove the labels and plastic rings around the neck of the bottles with scissors. Cut the top portion of the bottles off at the first indentation.

  2. Insert recycled wine corks into each of the water bottle tops. Wrap natural jute twine around the neck of each plastic water bottle several times, securing with a knot. Trim any long ends with scissors.
  3. Remove the faux cactus from its pot, add some brown crinkle paper, and then glue the cactus back into the pot. Repeat with the other two faux cacti.
  4. Place the faux cactus pots into the terra cotta clay pots and push them down to secure. Trim any excess brown crinkle paper with scissors, and then place the plastic bottle terrarium on top of the clay pot.

  5. Attach a piece of ribbon around the rim of the clay pot with a glue gun and glue sticks. Tie a bow with the black and white gingham ribbon, trim the ends with scissors, and then glue to the rim of the clay pot. Repeat with the other two clay pots.

***NOTE: Loose faux plants can be used, just secure a piece of Styrofoam in the bottom of the clay pot first. Then layer on the crinkle paper and insert the plastic cactus.

Mini Terrarium Craft

This Mini Terrarium Craft is the perfect project to do with kids or your crafty friends.

  • Crinkle Paper, Brown

Instructions
