Add a little bit of Disney magic and charm to your home decor, with this cute button craft. These mini canvases are perfect to add to a tiered tray, shelves, or gallery walls. Or you could make these as a gift for a Disney-loving friend or family member.

Grab a few basic craft supplies – that you probably have already in your craft stash – and get crafting. I’ve even got a FREE printable template for you to use.

Mickey and Minnie Disney Button Craft

Supplies Needed to Make this Disney Craft

*This project uses burlap canvases, but you can use regular white stretched canvases. You can also cover a basic white canvas in burlap before you add the buttons.

** Be sure to use a craft glue that dries CLEAR.

Supplies needed to make Mickey Mouse button art

Tutorial: How to Make Mickey & Minnie Mouse Button Art

  1. Download and print the Mouse Template (just click the RED button in the supply list). Cut out the mouse outline. Lay the mouse outline on top of the canvas, and secure with double-sided tape.
  2. Use liquid craft glue to attach a row of black buttons across the mouse template, right where the ears meet the head. Glue a row of red buttons directly below the row of black buttons. Lay template on canvas and glue red and black buttons inside the template
  3. Fill in the top section of the mouse template with black buttons, and fill in the bottom section with red buttons. Use a variety of sizes, and don’t worry about any small gaps.
  4. Decorate the Mickey Mouse Canvas: Attach the two one-inch yellow buttons at the top/center of the red buttons to create his shorts. embellish mouse button shape with yellow and white buttons
  5. Decorate the Minnie Mouse Canvas: Glue small white buttons in random order on top of the red buttons to create her polka dotted dress.
  6. Add additional red and black buttons on a second layer to hide any of the gaps.
  7. Tie the red and white polka dot ribbon in a bow, trimming any long ends with scissors at a 45-degree angle. Attach between the ears on the Minnie Canvas with liquid craft glue.
  8. Set both canvases aside to dry.

  • Grosgrain Ribbon, 5/8” wide – Red with White Polka Dots
  • Liquid Craft Glue**
  • Scissors
