Crafting with Dollar Tree Wall Decals
The dollar store sells a variety of fun craft stickers, wall decal stickers, and peel-and-stick wallpaper sheets, that you can use in so many ways.
I’ve had this Dollar Tree gold tray sitting on the shelf in my craft room for a while now, just waiting for the right project. So when I made a roundup of 5 NEW wall decal crafts for a YouTube video, this tray finally had a purpose.

This craft is SO easy to make. Just paint a serving tray with chalk paint, add a flower decal, and seal with your favorite clear spray or Mod Podge.

Wall Decal Tray Craft
Transform a plain Dollar Tree gold tray into a blooming work of art with this dollar store flower decal tray embellished with wall stickers.
Materials
- Pink Flower Wall Decals (Dollar Tree)
- Gold Tray (Dollar Tree)
- White Spray Paint Primer
- Folk Art Chalk Paint (antique green)
- Matte finishing spray
- Light pink paint (for distressing)
Tools
- 1" flat paint brush
Instructions
- Watch tutorial video. Watch the step-by-step video tutorial before you begin, and let that be your visual guide for this craft.
- Add a coat of primer. Spray a coat of white primer to the gold tray. It doesn't have to have full coverage, but just a base for your chalk paint to stick to.
- Apply a solid coat of paint. Paint a solid coat of green chalk paint on the tray. While applying your second coat, it may be necessary to add a spritz of water to keep the paint from thickening. Let the chalk paint dry completely between coats.
- Add flower decals. Once both coats of paint have dried completely, begin adding the flower decals. I added one full decal in the center of the tray, followed by partial decals in the corners. I used a total of 4 partial pieces for the corners.
- Distress the tray. I used light pink paint on a very dry brush to distress the tray. Gold would be a beautiful addition here as well.
- Seal the tray and decals. Using a matte finishing spray, spray the entire tray to seal everything in place and protect the surface.
The Finished Decorative Tray:

There you have it! With just a few simple materials and some creativity, you can create a beautiful floral decorative tray that will brighten up any space in your home. Whether you use it to display candles, serve drinks, or simply as a decorative accent, this DIY project is sure to impress. Happy crafting!
