This is such an amazing and fun DIY project. Make your own camera strap using an old sweater and some gold chain. How pretty!

I recently participated in my very first blogger challenge – with Crafting in the Rain.  The January “secret supply” was sweaters.  I had a black cardigan from the Loft that was incredibly soft, but had shrunk considerably.  I thought this would make a great camera strap.  I had some leftover gold leather and decided to make a black sweater/gold leather camera strap.

Here’s a quick play-by-play:

I cut the sleeves off of the sweater and cut the sleeves in half.

The pieces of sweater sleeve got sewn together and then sewn into a “tube.”

I ran a thick strip of ribbon through the sweater tube.

Traced the ends of the camera strap…

… and cut out new ends from gold leather.

Sewed the gold leather onto the end of the new camera strap.

Punched holes into the gold leather and added a black eyelet (from my scrap booking supplies).

Ran a gold chain through the eyelet.

This is such an amazing and fun DIY project. Make your own camera strap using an old sweater and some gold chain. How pretty!

And voila!
