Sort, store, and label your children’s winter clothing and gear using Ziploc® Space Bags® and Ziploc® Flexible Totes for a perfectly organized closet. Keep all of that winter gear in one place and know what sizes you have or will need for next season.
You guys, I’m so excited to share this organizing project with you. You all know how an organized space makes my heart skip a beat!
This organizing project is all about kids’ winter gear. See, I live in Minnesota, and I have two kids. So, I think you can do the math on how much seasonal “stuff” accumulates. Plus, my kids seem to grow from one size to the next mid-season, meaning we need to hold onto winter gear until the next season to see whether it will still fit.
I grabbed Ziploc® Space Bag® Large Flat for the larger, puffier items. I also bought Ziploc® Flexible Totes XL for smaller items and boots.
Sorting and Packing Winter Clothing
Start by gathering all of your winter gear in one spot to sort.
First, I used Ziploc® Space Bags® to help me shrink down and store the kids’ winter bedding and puffy jackets.
These reusable bags provide 3x the storage as compared to uncompressed storage volume. You know that’s a must since space always seems to be limited.
Then, I gave each one of my children their own Ziploc® Flexible Tote for mittens, boots, pajamas, etc. It helps if you face the heels of the boots outwards and stack flat edges of clothing piles towards the edges of the Totes. This will help maximize space and ensure stability.
Trust me – You’re going to want to label your Ziploc® Space Bags® and Ziploc® Flexible Totes
Here’s the key to organizing success: Label every ZiplocⓇ Space BagⓇ and ZiplocⓇ Flexible Tote that you fill. Don’t just label them with your child’s name. Also write down the sizes of items and quantity.
This way, as next winter approaches, you’ll know exactly what you have, and in what sizes. No more scrambling when you realize that last growth spurt left your kid coatless on the first snowy winter day!
