After making my little fall gnome craft with Dollar Tree ghost and witch hat cutouts, I had some extras sitting in my craft stash. And obviously, I couldn’t just leave them there. So… Christmas gnomes!

These Santa gnome Christmas ornaments use the exact same basic idea: the bottom of a wooden ghost becomes the gnome’s beard, while a witch hat becomes the cutest little Santa hat. Add a wood bead nose, some Christmas ribbon, and a tiny white pom pom, and you’d never guess these started out as Halloween craft supplies.

I made three at once because if you’re already painting one tiny ghost white, you might as well paint three, right?

I love finding ways to use seasonal Dollar Tree craft supplies beyond the holiday they were intended for. Those leftover Halloween wood cutouts don’t have to sit in your craft stash until next October.

And these little gnome ornaments are super easy to customize. Change the ribbon, add a white hat brim, use scrapbook paper on the back. You can make them as simple or embellished as you like.

    6. Add the Gnome Nose. Hot glue a small wood bead directly underneath the center of the hat brim.
    7. Add the Pom Pom Hot glue a small white pom pom over the point of the witch hat.
    8. Add the Ornament Hanger. Cut about 10 inches of red and white baker's twine and thread it through the original hanger hole in the witch hat. Tie the two ends together in a simple knot, and your ornament is ready for the Christmas tree.
