Give a gift in style with this Easter gift card holder.
In addition to the egg hunts and family gatherings, Easter is such a fun time to give gifts.

Not to mention, this is much more than a gift and can easily be repurposed by the receiver. Whether they choose to plant a small flower or use it to hold pens on a desk, they’ll enjoy giving a gift that keeps on giving!
WHY I LOVE THIS PROJECT
I love this project because it is genuinely creative and unique. There are so many things you can do with a terracotta pot, but adding a clay bunny card holder takes things to a new creative level.
This is also a craft that can be personalized depending on your own decorative style.
SUPPLIES NEEDED
- Crayola model magic clay (singular pack per peep)
- Extra fine craft glitter
- Small terracotta pot
- Basket filler
- Lavender paint (for pot) and brown paint (for peep eyes)
- Mod Podge
- Rolling pin
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Craft knife
- Ribbon of choice
- Ball point pen for peep eyes (can also use the end of a paintbrush)
TUTORIAL: HOW TO MAKE AN EASTER GIFT CARD HOLDER
Just follow this quick step-by-step tutorial:
- Split the clay in half and roll it out using the rolling pin. Roll the clay to a half-inch thickness for the base of the peep.
- Form the clay into an oval shape. Mold the back into a tail by pinching the back. Be sure to keep the base smooth.
- Shape the neck and head of the peep by rolling it into a short rope-like shape. Stand it up and begin to smooth downwards using fingers to create a Hershey kiss-like shape. Keep the bottom the same width as the base. Create a short neck and pinch in the front to create a beak.
- Attach the neck to the base and smooth out the seams.
- Use a craft knife to carefully create a slit behind the head. This will create the groove for the gift card to fit nicely and snugly.
- Allow the clay peep to dry completely before adding a layer of mod podge and glitter. Allow the mod podge and glitter to dry completely as well.
- Using a pen or the end of a paintbrush, create dots for the eyes on each side of the beak.
- Paint the terra cotta pot any color of your choice. Once dried, add filler, a ribbon, and place the card holder inside.
** TIP: Make sure the card holder groove is deep enough before allowing it to dry.
How cute did this craft turn out? I’d love to know how yours turned out!
