Last weekend, I was able to visit the Bachman’s Ideas House. I was supposed to go a few weeks ago with my mom, but I got sick. I think Patrick ended up taking one for the team and used my ticket. Thanks Patrick… I owe you one! I always enjoy visiting the Ideas House, and then browsing through the Bachman’s store (the Ideas House ticket usually comes with a $5 coupon to the store). Add a trip to the bakery in the store, and you have a recipe for a mini mommy vacation.
UPDATE: Want even more winter inspiration? Check out the 2014 Ideas House too!
The theme for this season’s house was “A Cozy, Contemporary Nordic Celebration.” The decor was the perfect mix of rustic and modern. The Ideas House people always come up with some amazing ideas.

How to Make a Hot Chocolate Bar
I started in the porch, which featured a hot chocolate bar. How cute is this?!? Someday, I will allow the twins to eat things like chocolate and marshmallows, and I will have a hot chocolate party for them 🙂

Christmas Kitchen: Get The Look
The upstairs has four bedrooms. The first was a winter garden room. My favorite part of the garden room was the use of terra cotta pots – in the chandelier and the window decorations. What a great way to put those pots to use in the winter time!
The master bedroom featured a bed that would make a great DIY project. All you would need to recreate this headboard and bench would be some wood and a nail gun. Not to mention, how tranquil is this color scheme?
The bedroom had one of the most genius organizing ideas I have seen in a while: ornament holders used for hanging necklaces and bracelets. How fun!
One of the rooms featured different holiday tables. I’m not one for dinner parties, so I didn’t spend much time in this room. I did snap this one picture, though. What a great New Year’s Eve quote.
Once again, Bachman’s didn’t disappoint. I can’t wait for their Spring Ideas House!
