Over the weekend, my mom and I went to the Bachman’s Spring Ideas House. They host the Ideas House three times per year – Spring, Fall, and Winter – and we try to go whenever we can.
They literally take an entire house, and decorate it based on a particular theme. This season’s theme was “Spring Revival.” Designers painted, furnished, and decorated the house in a way that told a story of seasonal and spiritual renewal.
Here are some highlights and my favorite parts of the Spring Revival Ideas House.
Spring 2015 Ideas House
Bright & Cheery Bicycle Bedroom
This cheery bicycle themed bedroom is full of DIY ideas. Use a salvaged bicycle wheel as a message board with decorative clothespins. Use salvaged shelf brackets and assorted glass vases as window decor. The wall art above the bed – it’s a decorative bicycle planter. Floral wire was used to “write” an inspirational saying on the wall.
Zen Yoga Room
This room featured a large open space, leaving plenty of room for yoga mats to take center stage. A living wall and water feature added plenty of zen around the periphery of the room. A “Namaste” wall mural helped keep the focus of the room peaceful.
Backroads Den
This travel-themed room brought red, white, and blue along with plenty of maps into the spotlight. Maps adorned an entire wall, as as well as the smallest details – like candles. Even the coasters got a touch of humor and color with the fun quote “go jump in the lake” – perfect for the Minnesota summer lifestyle.
Botanical Kitchen
The kitchen’s wall art and decorative storage were, of course, spring- inspired. Silverware, candles, and small plants were wrapped in picket-fence wooden decorations. And those two wall art pieces? They have definite DIY potential!
Watercolor Wonderland Dining Room
Described as a raspberry and green scene with neutral accents, this watercolor wonderland dining room was perfectly styled for spring.
Pops of Color in the Living Room
The color theme from the dining room carried over into the living room, a shared relaxation space, where naturals meet exuberant pops of color, moss accents, candles, and floral features. I couldn’t get enough of those painted green side chairs. They are the perfect shade of spring green!
