Instructions

    1. Watch video. Follow the tutorial for a step by step walkthrough on how to make your own reversible fall-to-winter craft.
    2. Paint the Pumpkin Side. Sketch curved pumpkin sections with a pencil and paint each one a different color — cream, green, and orange. When painting, use a curved “C-shaped” motion following the pumpkin’s natural arches. Add darker tones on the left and lighter tones on the right to mimic sunlight and create dimension. Paint the stem brown (mix dark and light brown tones if you’d like) and let everything dry.
    3. Cut Out the Snowman. Flip your sign over and trace each pumpkin section onto thick cardboard. Angle the pieces so the corrugated lines run in different directions. Cut out and make sure they fit snugly on the back.
    4. Reveal the Texture. Dampen the cardboard surface with a wet rag for 5–10 minutes, then peel off the top layer to reveal the corrugated texture underneath.
    5. Paint and Assemble. Paint each section with Antique White, then layer on Linen White for dimension. Hot glue the three cardboard pieces to the back of your pumpkin cutout to form the snowman.
    6. Add Details. Cut a small carrot nose from cardboard and paint it orange. Use black cardstock for eyes and a smile. For the top hat, cut two cardboard pieces (a curved brim and a hat shape) and paint them black. Attach them together, then secure to the snowman with Velcro strips so it’s removable.
    7. Finish with a Scarf and Bow. Wrap ribbon around the snowman’s neck for a scarf, cutting the ends at an angle and heat sealing them. On the pumpkin side, add a simple ribbon bow. When displaying, just flip the ribbon to the back for fall or to the front for winter.
