Use marble pattern contact paper and gold adhesive vinyl to make a beautiful, customized marble notebook cover for journaling or note keeping.
Let’s make a custom marble and gold notebook cover!
Why I love this simple Cricut craft project:
It’s no secret that I am definitely a paper-and-pencil kind of gal. I still use a paper planner and paper to-do lists. I keep a notepad on the front of the fridge for shopping lists. I love a good post-it note!
I recently decided to get crafty with a plain old inexpensive lined notebook. I grabbed some marble contact paper and gold vinyl and got crafting.
The end result: a pretty notebook that I can use as a gratitude journal.
Feel free to customize your notebook cover however you like. I just love how the marble and gold look together!

Supplies to make a fun marble and gold notebook cover:
- small notebook – mine was 5×7 inches

- scissors
- smoothing tool – mine is Cricut brand, but a credit card works well too!
- cutting mat
- cutting tool – like a PenBlade or this fingertip craft knife
- gold permanent adhesive vinyl
- strong grip transfer tape
- Cricut design space and cutting machine

Step-by-step tutorial:
Here is the step-by-step process to make your own marble notebook cover, Scroll to the end of this blog post for a printable version of this tutorial.
1. Peel off the stickers from the notebook. You can also peel away some of the paper binding – just be careful to keep the string that holds the paper together in place.
2. Cut a sheet of marble contact paper about 1 inch larger than the notebook cover. Peel away the contact paper backing, revealing the adhesive side.
3. With the notebook closed, smooth the contact paper over the notebook cover. Smooth from the spine edge to the open edge of the notebook.
4. Open the notebook on the cutting mat. Use a fingertip craft knife to trim away excess contact paper.
5. Cut your design onto gold adhesive vinyl on your Cricut (or other cutting machine). Weed the design. Use transfer tape to transfer the gold vinyl onto the notebook cover.

I love this idea and what you did here. I think we can all use our own journal and it helps through out the day. I am making one , just different sort of more like a junk book journal, but I’ll still be able to write in and keep my thoughts. Also if you ever do a giveaway on a circuit would love the chance to win one.. Thanks again..

I love a good journal! Maybe it’s in our genetics?
Hahaha! Probably 🙂
