Come learn how to Remove Labels from Wine Bottles – the Easy Way! No need for soaking or special supplies. Discover the quickest and cleanest way to remove labels form glass bottles.
This is a simple way to prep wine bottles to use in craft projects.
If you’re not saving your wine bottles to use in crafts, you need to start! And if you think it’s too much trouble saving the bottles and peeling off those labels, well, think again. While you’re at it, save the wine corks, too.
How to Remove Labels from Wine Bottles
Heat a pot of water. You don’t want to bring it to a rolling boil, but you do want the water to be hotter than you could get from the tap.
Using a measuring cup with a pour spout, carefully fill the empty wine bottle with hot water. Either set the bottle on a flat surface, or hold the bottle with a towel or pot holder. Be very careful!
Let sit for a minute or two. The hot water will loosen the label’s adhesive.
Starting with an edge, slowly peel off the label at a 45-degree angle. If the label starts to rip, start over at a different corner.
Depending on the type of adhesive, the label may peel off completely clean. If some adhesive is left behind, remove it with a tiny bit of Goo Gone or scrub with a sponge and soapy water.
This really works! So easy!!
I swear this is a case of my phone ratting me out to the world! I literally spent last evening trying to do this exact thing, and now here’s my answer. Well, regardless of how it ended up in my Pinterest feed, I’m thankful. I’m going to try it tonight.
Thanks!
