How to make a fall fabric decoupage trinket dish with dollar store supplies.
Grab one of those little ceramic dishes from the dollar store and some pretty autumn fabric because we’re giving it a fall makeover!
This Fall Fabric Decoupage Trinket Dish is such a simple little project, but I love how it turned out. We’re taking a plain ceramic trinket dish, adding fall fabric with Mod Podge, and painting the rest of the dish in a coordinating color.
Use it next to the sink to hold your rings, set it on your nightstand for jewelry, or just add it to a little fall vignette. It’s inexpensive, easy to customize, and a great way to use up a small scrap of fabric left over from another project.

Fall Fabric Decoupage Trinket Dish

Materials
- Dollar store ceramic trinket dish
- Fall fabric
- Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge
- Acrylic craft paint

- 1-inch flat paintbrush
- Fabric scissors
- Pen
Instructions

- Trace the Dish. Choose the portion of your fall fabric you want featured. Place the trinket dish on top and trace around it with a pen.
- Cut the Fabric. Cut just inside the traced line so no pen marks show. Round the corners if needed, then test fit the fabric and trim until it fits neatly inside the dish.
- Apply the Mod Podge. Brush a generous coat of Mod Podge over the entire inside surface of the trinket dish.
- Add the Fabric. Center the fabric over the wet Mod Podge and smooth it down with your fingertips. Work from the center outward to remove any wrinkles or bubbles.
- Paint the Trinket Dish. Paint the bottom and outside of the dish with a coordinating craft paint. Once dry, carefully paint around the inside edges, working right up to the fabric.
- Seal the Fabric. Once everything is dry, brush another coat of Mod Podge over the fabric to seal it. Use Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge if you'd like a little extra water resistance. Your Fall Fabric Decoupage Trinket Dish is finished and ready to hold rings, jewelry, or other little treasures!
What Can You Use a Fabric Trinket Dish For?
