Make this decoupage picture frame using Mod Podge and printed photos. What a great way to display vacation pictures!
Mod Podge picture frame with photos
I LOVE to travel, and I’m so excited to have a few trips booked for later this year. To say I’ve missed traveling is a complete understatement.
I especially love to travel with my kids. They are such fun, adventurous, and responsible little travelers. We have taken quite a few trips in years past, and that means we have a TON of vacation pictures.
Now, we do have regular photo albums, but those only get looked at a few times a year. The obvious solution is to display travel photos as well. But we only have so much free wall space for that.
Why I love this Mod Podge craft:
This decoupage picture frame lets you display multiple photos, yet only take up the space of one frame. Smart, right?
Supplies needed for this project:
- unfinished wood picture frame – from the craft store
- ruler
- paint – I used Waverly chalk paint in the color “pool”
- flat paint brushes
- pictures – printed out on regular printer paper
- paper trimmer
- scissors
- Mod Podge
- smoothing tool or credit/gift card

Step-by-step tutorial – How to make a Mod Podge frame with pictures
1. Measure the flat surface of your frame. Determine what size to print your photos.
2. Print your photos on regular printer paper. I find it easiest to edit and arrange digital pictures in a website called Canva.
3. Paint the frame. The unfinished wood will absorb a bit of paint, so apply a generous coat. Let dry.
4. Trim your photos down to size. Arrange around the frame so that they are evenly spaced.
5. With a flat paint brush, apply a coat of Mod Podge to a small section of the frame. Lay a photo on top and smooth down. Repeat this process all around the frame. Let dry.
6. Seal the photos with a coat of Mod Podge. Let dry.
