Mother’s Day is on May 14 this year. Are you ready? No worries if you’re not, because I’m sharing a fun craft with you today that is perfect for Mother’s Day. Make this customized DIY Decoupage Mother’s Day Vase that is inspired by and coordinates with your favorite Hallmark Mother’s Day Card!
Walmart is featuring a collection of Hallmark Signature cards for Mother’s Day. They are a line of premium, handcrafted greeting cards, and they are GORGEOUS! I seriously had a hard time picking out my card for this project.
Here’s what you’ll need to make this Mother’s Day Vase:
- Hallmark card for decorating inspiration
- glass jar
- craft paint
- decoupage glue (like Mod Podge)
- craft paper
- scissors
- fresh flowers
DIY Decoupage Mother’s Day Vase
When you are working with decoupage and paint, the design possibilities are endless. For this DIY vase, I was inspired by this beautiful flower Hallmark Signature Mother’s Day card:
Start by painting your entire jar a solid color. White spray paint works well for this step.
Then add some additional paint to add a little color. Let dry completely.
Cut out little green leaves from your craft paper. Attach them to the jar with a thin layer of decoupage glue.
Finish the DIY vase by covering the entire jar in a thin layer of decoupage glue.
Let the decoupage glue dry completely, and then add a few Mother’s Day flowers for the perfect simple and heartfelt gift!
PS – this would be a fantastic craft for the kids to help make. My daughter had so much fun helping me cut out the little green leaves!
